Soooo... We finally got a couple of dry days in a row, so the lawn has dried enough to be mowed.   Got out the lawnmower in the afternoon and I'm out in the back yard trying to find where my dad has hidden the gasoline.   I notice that one of our bunnies is out nibbling the grass on the driveway.  (We have a gravel driveway, so we have to mow the edges and the center of it as well. )
I'm not making much of a racket, but he is only about 30 feet away from where I'm working on the mower.   Bold bunny, I think to myself, and expect that he will run away once the mower starts running.
Later on, my dad tells me that he talks to the bunnies when he is outside working in the yard.   My dad also has this amazing thing with wild animals.  they just seem to not see him as any sort of threat.   One time, a wild fox came up to him while he was eating lunch on a job site, and was nibbling on my dad's shoelaces.  He's just got this thing.

ANyway, after some grunting and cursing, I get the mower started.   I look over at the bunny.  He's still there!  Definitely looking at me and the noisy machine, but still mowing the grass, one blade at a time.  So, I figure he'll run when I get closer.   I mow the area further away in the back, but eventually I do the patch that is near to him.   He's still not running!  Holding very still and crouching down, but not running.   I'm about ten feet away when I turn around and go back to circle around the next section of grass.

ON the next pass around, bunny has gone away.  Nothing but a few waving branches to mark it's passage.  So I finished mowing the lawn, my day improved by my dose of bunny.
