In addition to dad's health saga, Verizontal screwing up a perfectly good phone service, the washing machine dumps gallons of soapy water on the floor of the laundry room last night.
At work today, the gas company has found an underground leak, and shut off the gas to the entire industrial park so they can dig up and repair that. Unknown when we will get heat back, hopefully before lunchtime tomorrow.

I get home and figure out why the washing machine failed. (turning off the water in the middle of a wash cycle to do plumbing work on the house is a bad idea, as it turns out) So I get out of that with nothing more than a mess to clean up and some wasted time tonight.

So I notice the furnace seems to have broken something and is just continuously running. I think I'm gonna call a furnace repair tech for that.
