Riding out Hurricane Irene.

Spent a long day and late night last night running a full performance schedule at the festival, then taking a lot of it down afterwards. Sunday of the festival cancelled due to the visit of Irene to the area. Worked 9am till 230am.
Today (sunday) down at the site about 9am, getting as much as possible gathered in and packed away before the winds arrived. Rain has been with us since about 1am. About 3pm, we got our first heavy gust of wind about 30mph, and we took that as a message from mother nature that it was quitting time. Finished up what we were doing, packed everything away and secured stuff for high winds. Headed back to the hotel around 330.
Now, after hanging up my soaking wet clothes to dry around the room and taking a long shower to remove both layers of mud on my body, I'm safe and sound at the lovely bangor holiday inn by the airport. As long as the power and internet connection keep working I'm all set.
The weather-guessers are saying tomorrow is supposed to be showers tapering off by noon, and pretty windy all day. So probably back out there late morning and will finish up everything.
Planning on heading home on schedule tuesday.
