Spent the weekend visiting with many local friends, at
their various homes. Friday evening was at Geri's home,
nice relaxing evening telling convention war stories and
socializing.
Saturday I didn't get up in time to make it to the
corn maze, but I caught up with folks at the bison farm,
where I tried on hats, paid homage to the barn cats, and
bought a package of bison burgers. Then back home to
drop off some stuff, and off the Mark's house where I
cooked and enjoyed my bison burgers, and watched folks
try the collection of ancient wines brought from the
dusty reaches of their wine cabinets. Some of them
had not turned to vinegar.
Sunday was an extremely yummy brunch at Deb's house,
and since beaches were not my thing, I declined the
trip to the apple orchard and crane beach. Back home
to perform open windows surgery on my laptop, which had
crashed hard.
Monday we took the boat out to Georges Island, which
has a wonderful old coastal defense fort, full of
extremely dark tunnels and stonework. Picnic lunch was
nice, and the composting toilets out there were not as
horrible as I feared.
I had fun. Thanks Geri, and everyone who opened their
homes to us.
