Getting all wet and messy.

The heat in my house has been wonky lately. One of the pipe loops for the upstairs (which serves my bedroom, natch) has not been circulating water. So today, my dad and I went to do battle with the plumbing daemons.
We went and changed out a valve in the heating system of the house. Two trips to Lowes and I got doused with nasty black/brown water when I cut a pipe that I *thought* was all drained out.
Anyway....
It is, I think, a draw.
The system is put back together, and it is only leaking a little bit. Hot water is coming out of the faucets, and I hear the pipes creaking upstairs as the hot water is flowing through them. I've got a five gallon bucket under the drip, and I'll go check it in an hour to see how much water has accumulated.
Not how I wanted to spend the first day of a four day holiday.
Next task. Install the second video card and monitor in my computer. Wish me luck.

Date: 2006-12-24 01:51 pm (UTC)I'll be heading that way today again anyway. When I installed my new monitor and second monitor card, it disabled my first monitor. reading the fine print in XP help, says that to use the dual monitor feature, I gotta have two PCI video cards. Apparantly the built in video driver on the motherboard isn't pci. Drat! So off to comp-u-spend to look for another card, or maybe a double port card. *sighs*
