Suspicious packaging...

I had an unused clock radio, that I gave to my parents to send to my brother in Seattle. Anyway, I dug it out of the rubble that is my storage area and gave it to my parents. They wrapped it up, boxed it and taped the thing shut. Left it by the door to take it to the post office later.
Little while later mom hears something beeping, so mom & dad are roaming around the house trying to find out what is beeping. It's the box they just wrapped up. I don't know what they did, since it has been unplugged for about 18 months, but it woke up and started sounding an alarm.
Good thing it didn't decide to start beeping while it was in transit, it probably would have been blown up by the post office bomb squad.
