Sunday, I took a drive out to the wonderful citylet of Worcester Mass, heading to the Worcester Centrum Arena, although it goes by some bank's name nowadays. It was the last Worcester performance of Walking With Dinosaurs. (It is going to be in Providence, RI this coming weekend.)

Oh My Ghod. The dinosaurs are just freaking fantastic. From the little (only eight feet tall and about ten feet long) raptors to the big ones. (That have to duck down to get under the 30 foot tall proscenium for their entries and exits.) T-rex leans out over the audience and roars hungrily at them. If you got little kids seeing the show, best to get the cheap seats up in nosebleed territory, so they don't scream and wet themselves from the scare.

I really want to get a backstage tour of the animatronics for the dinosaurs. I don't want to think about how all of the dinosaurs are being controlled. But I want to find out how. *grins*

I went to three animatronic shows as a kid. one of dinosaurs, one of iceage creatures, and one of ancient sea creatures. all were awesome and made me want to take them home as if they were real.

FYI, the people who did this took all those CGI dinos afterward and decided they HAD to use them for something. Go rent a copy of the first season of the UK based TV show Primeaval to take a look! (I'm currently part way through Season 2)
