January second saturday lunchmeat
Jan. 4th, 2010 07:01 pmHello everyone.
Once again it is time for the monthly bostonfur second saturday lunch meet.
This coming saturday, january 9th, at noontime
In the food court of the prudential center.
Meet in the alcove on the far side by the windows.
(This is a change, hope that the other end is a little better for conversation)
And in case you may have forgotten, it's science fiction convention season in Boston.
This month is ARISIA (www.arisia.org) the following weekend, at the Hyatt ziggurat in Cambridge.
Next month is Boskone (www.boskone.org) at the Westin Waterfront hotel.
I'll be working in the con suite for both of these, please drop by.
I also have one free membership to boskone that I can give to a worthy person.

Date: 2010-01-06 03:14 am (UTC)So if that is cool, private message to me your real name and postal address, and I'll give that to the membership database maven to do that voodoo. I get the membership since I earn if for volunteering on the convention more than N hours last year, but since I'm a life member of Boskone, I get a membership anyway.
Also, and this part is voluntary, since I'm runnning the con suite, a couple of hours of volunteering in the con suite would be much appreciated.
Volunteer more hours to get a volunteer gift (tshirt/books/bag) or even more hours for the free membership for the following year. (plug plug) If you are into vampire romances, Charline Harris will be a guest at the 2011 Boskone.

Date: 2010-01-06 04:32 am (UTC)someone who hasn't been to a Boskone in a couple of years
The last time I went to Boskone was the year it left Boston. When was that, 1989?
a couple of hours of volunteering in the con suite would be much appreciated.
I wouldn't be any help lifting since I some back problems and a hernia, but I can refill bowls or monitor stuff.
I posted my Arisia schedule recently and I'll be volunteering as a Naughty Nurse again, but I will absolutely drop by the con suite to say hello.
