An observation I made the other day.

Was walking down the street and coming the other way was this casually dressed man who was having an animated conversation (with hand motions, shaking of the head, and so on) with the thin air. Ten years ago, I would have avoided this obviously delusional person. Nowadays, I just take notice of the small blue glow peering out of his ear. Like the thing from Wrath of Khan, but not as slimey.


The times, they are a-changing.






To all the other veterans out there, and my shipmates who are currently sailing in harms way, thanks and come home safe.

BTW, do you know a guy named Greg Brewster who used to work for ALPS? If so I'd love to hear your opinion on him...

I'd need to see his picture to be sure who he is. I'm terrible at matching names to my memories. There was a greg, but I'm not sure who he is.

Don't have a picture. Guy I ran into would have stopped working at ALPS almost exactly a year ago. He went to work for Babson as their TD. When I did my gig last year it was literally on his first weekend in the new job. He was in the process of moving and so he wasn't around at all and was happy to have a client who could take care of the building on their own. This year? He was surly and very defensive and angry at having a client who "acted like they owned the place"... Um, got news for ya buddy, I've been working here since the ground-breaking ceremony for this damned building. No, seriously. And I've got my own goddamned set of keys too. So do me a favor and get the f*cking chip off your shoulder. Instead, why don't you try sitting back in your office across the street, relaxing, and enjoying the fact that you've got a client you DON'T need to babysit this time. Oh, and that border that conflicts with the 3rd electric which you go so bent out of shape about? Yeah, I designed the damned plot so OF COURSE I knew about the conflict. News flash; if you bring in the electric without the border and then need to get it back out again, you can easily just drop the border down, pull it out of the way, haul the electric up, and then haul the border up. You do NOT need to marry the two linesets and bring them down together every time.

Yeah, that narrows it down. He was the junior sales guy. I never saw him work outside of the sales office. Seemed reasonable to me, but I didn't have that much interaction with him.
