Finally springtime.
Apr. 16th, 2011 03:54 pmThis week, a couple of signs that spring is finally here. The huge mound of snow at the back of the parking lot at work is now just some small mounds of sand and debris. There was a flower blooming in the yard. (It was gone the next day. The squirrels or the deer must have gotten it.) I packed away my thermal underwear.
The boom lift is, no surprise here, still stuck in the mud of the side yard. Presumably my brothers have more ineffectual plans to remove it from the yard. Still not my problem.
next weekend is easter, and Anime Boston. I'll be dealing blackjack at anime boston in the game room Saturday evening. (7-11pm, I think, but the schedule is in my home e-mail) and sunday afternoon noon - 4pm, I think. If you are at the con, come by and say hi, and maybe sit in for a couple of hands.
Warning to folks:
Word is going around the military-furs community. The TV show TABOO, from the national geographic channel, wants to interview military furs about "their double life." Stay far far away from these folks. Based on seeing a few commercials for their other shows, they are all about exploiting people's sexual fetishes for selling TV ads. Tell all your friends that people like this will promise you pretty much anything to get you to yammer about sexual fetish stuff on camera. They will then edit down for maximum shock and ratings. Context, accuracy and normality don't even enter into the discussion. Not only NO. But HELL NO!!!!! Furry fandom (and other fandoms) have been burned by these sorts of people before. Don't even give them the time of day, and if you see anyone talking to them, warn them off. They are, at best, serial prevaricators. And I don't expect the best from these kinds of sleazeballs.
