Just a few minutes ago I did something that I've been working towards since 2001.
Ending something that has been hanging over my financial affairs for nine years.
I wrote the last check to my Bank of America credit card. (used to be MBNA, but the BoE bought them out a couple years ago) Payment in full, including all those years of usurious interest ratesca that the Bank of Evil has been charging me with since I missed several of my payments during the two years I was unemployed, and a couple more in the two years I was semi-employed.
If I ever do business with the Bank of Evil again, they can kiss my shiny ass. They should burn eternally in hell with the temple moneylenders as far as I am concerned.
This also fufills nine years of new years resolutions to pay off that damned credit card. I can also use that income that it's been eating to pay off a bunch of smaller bills over the next couple of months, and then I'll be able to afford that root canal and crown I've been needing for the past six months.
What a relief.
