Mostly I'm going to work work work. Still working for ALPS, and the summer doldrums, such as they are have hit. But since we are effectively down about three to five persons all summer due to various reasons (many involving orthopedic surgery), I expect things not to get too slow.

I'm now on one of my town committees, and as someone who voluteered for the job and I mentioned that I had done logistics, got appointed to the executive board as the logistics person. Lucky me. I gotta create and implrement a logistics plan for our little piece of homeland insecurity. It is, of course, entirely uncompensated. But it should be interesting, and gets me involved in town politics.

Normally I work on the National Folk Festival, which this year is July 11-13, in Butte, Montana, but I didn't have enough vacation time from work to do that. Probably next year I'll be out there.

July 25-27 is the Lowell Folk Festival, in sunny Lowell, Massachusetts. I'll be working as a stagehand for that, on the JFK plaza stage. Anyone going to the festival that I know is welcome to please come and say hi. If the crowd is too thick, come around back to the stage door and ask for Dale. When we are not actually changing the band on stage, it's basically just hanging around waiting for the next set change.

August 8-10 is the campout/barbaque thingy at Fyrdawg's place up in Maine. This time I'll remember to bring the bug spray. And some earplugs. and the pump for the air mattress.

August 22-24 is the American Folk Festival in Bangor, Maine. I'll probably be driving up there on the 15th or 16th, as there is a *lot* of work for me to do to get ready for the festival. I'm one of the festival electricians. about a hundred tents, and pretty much every one of them gets some electricity and lighting put into them. Also the stage lighting for five of the six performance venues is my problem. Anyone near Bangor around then would be a welcome visitor, stop by the operations compound and someone there can call me on the radio. If you can drive a golf cart responsibly, we may ask you to volunteer.

September, No worldcon for me this year either.
October, Not working the Richmond Folk Festival, no vacation time. But I do plan to be at furfright, a halloween themed furry costume convention held in CT. MY plans for that are cast in silly-putty though.

I'm still looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. Anyone interested please e-mail me privately. Hope everyone has a good summer.
