Didn't go to joisey.
Aug. 11th, 2007 03:40 pmI was seriously considering driving down to Newark, NJ today. Furry con going on there this weekend, which would have been nice to spend some time at, considering I haven't been at one in close to two years. The other thing was that City Theatrical was having an open house at their facility in northern, NJ today.
I set my alarm clock for 6am, and made sure I had clean clothes for the trip. This morning I got up, showered and was printing out directions to the two places. Then I noticed the time estimates. three hours and 50 minutes, and then another hour from there to Newark. Ummm... Welll.... Lets reconsider this.
I couldn't leave till after 9am, as I had to go to the bank in person to deal with some account wrangling, which means 1pm if I make decent time. Which only leaves about two hours for seminars and such at City theatrical, then I wouldn't get to the con while the dealers room was still open. And the dealers room was the other major attraction to the convention for me.
So I decided not to go. Had a leisurely day, did some shopping on the sales tax holiday we are having here this weekend. Bought myself a new toy. One of those butane stoves like the hotels use for their portable omelette stations at the hotels. and the nice Teflon 8 inch saute pan and the high temperature spatula.
Cooked myself an omelette in it for late lunch. After nearly dropping the omelette a couple of times trying to flip it like the cooks do. Practice, I need more practice.
