I've heard a lot of complaints about Uber's weird pricing structure and bait-and-switch charging.
I have to wonder what route your Uber driver took since Hyatt to Hav Sq is like 2miles, and that was going by my GPS.
Your friend may want to complain to Uber, and see if there's anything in the ToS about a driver deliberately jacking up the price by taking a longer route.
