dalesqlSo mom is back home. Couple of days in hospital took care of her flu or whatever it was. Glad she is okay.
Dad still in hospital. Getting better each day. Two nights ago visiting he was talking clearly, holding a conversation. Upset that he was not allowed to eat or drink anything or get up and use the bathroom. but his short term memory is still shot. Last night I got there just as they drew a bunch of blood for tests, and he fell asleep shortly after.
Hospital doctors are now talking about transferring him to a rehab hospital for care. He needs a hospital enviroment as long as he is on the IV meds, and the anticoagulant. Once he is eating normally, we can get the stomach tube removed. Once that is out, he can be switched to an oral anticoagulant and tapered off of that.
My brother visiting from seattle was talking to a psychiatrist as part of his AA meeting, and talked about the stress of my other brother's behavior towards mom and dad. Psychiatrist told him that this may be elder abuse, and that she is a mandatory reporter under mass law. So I expect some investigators from the state will be visiting soon to poke into our life. *sighs*
This weekend is he boskone debriefing on sunday, and Anthro New England in Cambridge. Plan to go to both of these, as time permits.
