Training home from Anthrocon.

Here I am, after a long day riding overcrowded trains home from anthrocon. Finally in the last couple of hours I'm on a car where I had room and a power outlet for my laptop, and the somewhat laggy amtrak wifi connection.
Anthrocon was fun but exhausting. Spent the majority of my time working in the art show. Got in Wednesday evening, fortunately the train station is next door to the main hotel. Unfortunately, I had to walk all the way around the block to get to the door of the hotel. Checked in with PeterCat and first thing thursday morning found me working away doing setup. the union carpenters had done all the pipe and pegboard and lighting on wednesday, as the cost of having them in on thursday the holiday would have been prohibitive. So most of thursday was organizing the office, lots of hugs and socializing, fixing the mistakes the carpenters had made, and so on. early arriving artists started hanging their art until we closed for the mandatory precon meeting for all staff in the evening.
Friday: Busy busy all day checking in artists, and open and then the reception in the evening. Missed the NE furries meetup that day. And the first sardyuon performance.
Saturday, worked the morning shift in the show, had the rest of the day to go see the con. the (hopefully) Guinness book of records setting fursuit parade. Socialized around but the con is so large that many folks that I knew were there I didn't see until later if at all. I did see the amazing Everdeer mouse costume. She is impossibly cute in it, and pictures do not do it justice.
Sunday: Closeout day in the art show. Started at 830 in the morning with the art crew breakfast and worked all the way through to 630pm. the airconditioning was turned off when the loading docks opened up around 5pm. Broke free from the art show to run back to my room for a quick shower and change to get ready for sharky's bicca de Beppo dinner. Unfortunately there was something in the air of the dining room we were in that set off my allergies, so I had to leave early. Not to mention about 70 furry fans eating in a room designed for about 50 people.
Also missed the second Sardyuon performance on sunday. But he did come out afterwards and did a few tricks to entertain the folks standing in line for the art show closeout. I wasn't able to do more than glance at them for a few moments at a time, but what he does is amazing.
I had fun. I hope I can afford to go next year.
