Bottom line, getting in better shape, blood pressure under control, and they complimented me on having great numbers on my blood tests. So overall I am pleased.
I had only lost five pounds since last year, which was quite surprising, as my waistline had shrunk about two inches in that same time. Bonus! I can again fit into pants I couldn't wear last year. I was expecting that I would have lost 15-20 pounds. Cholesteral numbers were very good, and another thing, which they called a marker for the prior three months of blood pressure and cardiac status was excellent.
Ordered a chest x-ray, as I am now in the prime risk period from the asbestos I got exposed to when I was in the navy. I'll go see if I can get that in the morning.
Still on the lisinipril and HCTZ for high blood pressure, but it's good, and I'm in the stage of fiddling dosage and then run with that for three months to see how the body reacts.
Also, this was my annual DOT drivers physical, so that's good for another year.

Date: 2012-03-22 03:05 am (UTC)One thing I did was buy one of those battery powered automatic blood pressure cuffs at the drugstore. Once I realized that I needed to special order the larger cuff for it, as my arm was too big for the standard cuff, which led to error reading substantially higher than they actually were. I was able to get my BP every day. and the tihing has a USB port, so I can download the readings to my computer. This allowed me to keep really good track of it and let me be able to call into the office and have the medication adjusted with a phone call instead of waiting a full month and the next office visit. well worth the money.
