Mom is still not so good with the short term memory thing, and needs someone with her pretty much all the time. This afternoon she tried to heat up one of those millet bag things that she has been using to apply warm heat to her eyes in the microwave, and burned it. Although, I do have to admit that mom had never quite mastered the microwave oven before the current difficulties. she has developed a stye and the warm moist heat to the eye is supposed to help it repair itself. If it hasn't resolved after two days, or gets substantially larger, we call back the doctor to get an antibiotic eye cream prescribed.
Dad is hopefully coming home from the nursing home monday. Today my sister took him to a concert at a local church. He used his walker to go through the nursing home but as soon as he got to the car, he just picked it up in one hand and put it away. At the church he brought it in because my sister insisted, but he was carrying it up and down the stairs like it was a briefcase there. I presume he started using the walker the prescribed fashion when he got back to the nursing home.
Did a bunch of cleaning around the house today, mostly my older brother and sister, who had way more energy than I did. Several carpets were still out on the porch railing getting the dust beaten out of them when the rain shower started, so they will be out there until we get a couple of dry sunny days in a row.
