It's 11 days until the election....

I can't wait for them to all shut the f*$k up!!!!!



It seems that every other ad on the radio, TV and billboard I see is some sort of political ad. And the news and talk shows are nearly all yapping about all the candidates and ballot questions.

It all reminds me of a school trip to the zoo when I was a kid. One of the bullies in the class started throwing stuff at the caged animals. The monkeys started throwing feces back at the bully. He got what he deserved that day.

Now I see and hear the ads and the people on the news and chat shows. A bunch of metaphorical monkeys so busy throwing feces at each other that they can't see the rest of us trying to leave them behind. Hoping that the lion will come along and kill the lot of them.

I'm sick of them calling at all hours for surveys and cramming my mailbox with idiotic flyers. I'm also sick of the name calling, and anyone that prefaces their campaign with negative ads loses my vote instantly.

I think it should be illegal for them to advertise or promote. Election day should be Election Week, and during Election Week, people come in, sit down and read the positions of the different candidates -- BLIND (i.e., they don't know which candidates are holding which positions, just that one candidate proposes X, Y and Z while the other proposes A, B, and C). Then, after you've read through them, you get to choose which position you prefer. (or, in my perfect scenario, if you think both suck you vote for "None of the above"). Only after you've voted do you find out which person it was.

If you add to that some serious penalty for failing to deliver on a promise, I might go for it. Say one year at hard labor for each promise broken.
