Not a good week at all. First, my friend Susan Khan lost her battle with cancer monday. She leaves her husband and two children, and many friends with a vacancy in their lives. Farewell Susan. Until we meet again.

Then this morning I got tagged at work to drive some deliveries. (One of our drivers is still out on long term back problems) Nearly wrecked the truck twice, got stuck in traffic a couple of times, and the GPS kept trying to direct me onto passenger car only roads. Then to add insult to injury, on my last delivery, there was construction, so I had to load in a constricted parking lot. Just as I finished loading up, some guy drives up and parks right behind the truck. I ask him to move for a minute so I can backup safely and leave the lot to his parking pleasure. He starts cursing me out and yelling and waving his arms. I mean there was even spittle flying as he ranted at me. At that point I give it up and just get into the truck, carefully back up (not giving into the temptation to just mash right back into his car. and it was hard to resist. ) As I'm backing up, this bozo gets even more agitated and starts coming back over to my truck threatening all kinds of threats. I back up enough and put it into forward and drive away from this bozo before he reaches me. I don't look back as his cursing fades away in the distance.

Then I get back to work and get a chance to call my bank back. (They had called home yesterday and left a garbled message with my dad. ) Oh, did you know your account has been frozen with a fraud alert? No, I sez. Let me connect you to our fraud department. Joy.

So, I spent half an hour on the phone with the lady from the fraud department. Cancel my debit card. Flog my memory to review all the recent charges to see which ones I did, and which ones I did not. Then down to the branch of my bank to perform more paperwork and reviews in person. Another hour of my life lost to a criminal who stole my debit card information.

And it's only tuesday.
