A love letter from the IRS.
Apr. 19th, 2012 07:15 pmOh, frabujous day! Waiting for me when I got home tonight was a thick envelope with the Internal Revenue Service on the return address. With a sinking feeling, and wondering what it could be, since I had e-filed on Saturday, I opened it.
Yup.
Bad news. The IRS wants more of my money. From last year's tax return. It seems they didn't believe me when I told them that the check I had gotten from the involuntary dissolution of an old 401K had been deposited into my current 401K plan. So they want 2300 bucks in taxes, penalties, interest and late fees. *sighs*
Pray for me, please, as I try to convince them that I really did try to do the right thing with the money.
