I had an idea.
Mar. 1st, 2012 10:37 pmFor a new business. Probably needs to be started by someone with deep pockets.
basically, it's a pizza/sub shop on a food truck. Only, instead of having a route that they run each day, they are doing exclusively delivery service on call. Customer calls an 800 number or hits the web site and places their order. nearest truck receives the order via some sort of mobile data service. Pizza and subs are prepared on the truck and cooked on the truck while the truck is driving to the location. Hot from the oven pizza & subs are walked from the truck to the customer. Customer pays for high quality meal, fresh from the oven.
have to have a commissary location relatively close to the market, for restocking trucks, cleaning and home base for trucks not in use. probably need a couple of trucks to start, along with an advertising blitz to establish brand. Truck crew is two or three people. Cook in back who prepares all food. Driver to drive the truck. During peak times or in areas where parking is unobtanioum, add a third crew person who is the delivery runner while the driver takes the truck around the block a couple of times.
Have I invented something that has already been done again, or is this an original idea?
