Not a good week that was.
Jan. 15th, 2012 10:26 pmEarlier this week, had a crown break and fall out of my mouth. That sucks, but it has happened before, and I call my dentist, get an appointment, and she glues it back in. No biggie, just and inconvienence.
Nope, I get to the dentist on thursday, and she tells me that the thing can;t be glued back in again cause the incompetent dentist who had done it, didn't leave enough root there to properly anchor it. So I have choices. I can get a false tooth added to my denture. except I can't stand to wear the damned thing for more than an hour or so. It makes me crazy. So...
Next choice is a bridge, except the tooth next to it is also a crown, so can't attach a bridge to that, so the bridge would be more of a pier, and would likely break, and take the good tooth it is attached too with it. that's a non-starter.
So next choice is an implant. about 2500 bucks for the surgery, then another 2500 bucks for the false tooth and prep work. My dental insurace will only cover half of the false tooth. So I'll have to come up with about 4 kilobucks to have this done.
that was whammie number one. whammie number two was my dad. Dad went to the neruologist friday, adn was officially diagnosed with alzheimers. Mild so far, but the medications for it have some fairly serious complications. And the prospect of having my dad there but not there is just a horrifying concept for me.
And that was why I was nit very sociable at arisia this weekend. *sighs*
