Didn't do much of anything interesting today, except to find out that many of the places that are happy to sell you a brand new propane tank, will not fill it. But they are happy to sell you an 'exchange' tank with propane in it. The scam of these exchange tank companies is that they use a tank that looks like a 20 pound tank, but is actually 15 or 18 pounds capacity, and price it at the same cost as a refill for a 20 pound tank. Makes a service that I had always thought had to be pretty marginal to one that is profitable.


Inventory at work tomorrow and thursday. Everyone except for the receptionist or folks out servicing customers get to spend the days counting our rental inventory. Hopefully they will also be at least visually inspecting the gear and sending the broken stuff back to me for repair. Where it will sit, untouched for a while, as I am heading out on vacation at close of business thursday.

Going to Maine to camp with some friends over the weekend. Following that, go directly to Bangor, do not pass go, do not collect $200, to work on the American folk festival on the Bangor waterfront. I'll be in Bangor preparing for, running, and then tearing back down the festival. I'll be one of the guys hauling the heavy electrical cables around. that's from sunday the 22nd until tuesday the 31st.
