Happy saint paddy's day
Mar. 17th, 2007 03:55 pmHere in Boston, we celebrated with a nor'easter snowstorm the day before. Today I spent too much time clearing the twelve or so inches of soaking wet snow from the driveway and front walk. Thank ghu for snowblowers. Fun snowblower trivia. Did you know that if you leave some soaking wet snow in the discharge chute while you are changing one of the shear pins, it will freeze solid by the time you finish changing the pins. Chipping plugs of ice out of the snowblower is no fun at all.
I also discovered that the shear pins we bought for the snowblower are about a quarter inch too short for it. Duct tape will hold the shear pins in place though. All hail the power of duct tape!
Once the driveway was cleared as much as we were goign to get it, and the snowblower got put away. Time for a bit of snowy saint paddy's day fun. I got out the quart of green food coloring I just happened to have in the back of my car, and the spray bottle. I now have a driveway covered with green slush and snow. *laughs* Happy saint paddy's day.
