There and back again.
Aug. 9th, 2005 02:49 pmBack home safely, no thanks to those really intense thunderstorms in Delaware and New jersey. ( Hit a deeeep puddle going about 45 mph in my liddle bitty honda civic. Fortunately the road was empty except for me and the water at the time. ) Spent about three hours to get from the delaware bridge to New brunswick. ( about 70 miles? ) Traffic,
heavy rain, closed roads due to flooding, trees blown over, and a building collapsed.
Went to Bobby Gear's memorial celebration on Saturday. I miss her.
Sunday was down to Richmond for the site visit for the national folk festival. Crappy traffic going down and back. What should have been about a 90 minute drive each way took more than three hours each way. Foretaste of monday's lousy driving. Got one set of questions answered about the site, and now have a new set. yay.
Visited the NCTA office and the national sound warehouse on the way home monday. And I totally forgot to pick up my handset from national sound that they accidentally packed up from lowell, which was the main reason I wanted to stop there. *thwaps self on forehead* I realized this when I was driving over the Delaware bridge.
