Periodic natterings.

I noticed that I hadn't posted for a while, so I decided to write about nothing here.

No major hassles lately, but life has recently been full of medium annoying things. Had a filling fall out, got to my dentist to look at it. I need root canals, and they may be so bad that the teeth will have to be yanked. Unfortunately, I had a different dental plan, and she didn't have the provider book, so couldn't refer me right then. And, oh yeah, I was literally the last appointment she had before going on her vacation, so I'm coping with lots of motrin and chewing carefully until she returns on Monday. Bleah....

And earlier this week, I found a a W-2 form and a 1099 form for jobs I had forgotten about. They mailed me the forms back some time, and since I wasn't going to turn my tax check in until the last minute, I put them in 'a safe place'. So safe, it turns out, I forgot about them. Now the joy of filing an amended tax return. A personal first. Yuck.

On a better note, the minivan's odometer recently showed an interesting number. 222222.2 miles. It's still running strong, so I'm crossing my fingers and I've promised it a new timing belt as soon as I can gather up the money.

The house smells lovely right now. Took some cakes out of the oven about an hour ago that I'm making for the Eastlake's green party on Sunday. tomorrow, a big batch of mint flavored, green colored buttercream frosting gets made and applied. I'm still debating on the french buttercream, which incorporates uncooked eggs, or the egg-free buttercream, which is not quite so lovely tasting, but still full of sugary-buttery goodness. If I can find my cake piping kit, gonna try some decorations on the thing as well. Inspired by www.cakewrecks.com website, I'm gonna try to think of something interesting.... and green, lots of green. But still within my meagre cake decorating talents.

Summer has gotten a start here. I've unpacked my shorts and plan to wear them this weekend, exposing my pale and pasty legs to the burning sunlight for the first time this year.
I'm glad to read that Geri is recovering well from her recent surgery, and wish her a continuing good recovery and all good health.

Ta ta for now.

Many thanks for your good wishes. I'm sorry I'm not yet up for the party; your cake sounds interesting. Mint buttercream sounds like a win no matter how you make it!

That's a bummer about having to amend your tax return and even moreso about the teeth. Here's hoping my Matrix lasts as long as your minivan.
