Aurora fail.
Sep. 13th, 2014 10:36 amThere was a lot of chat about the solar storm and that we might have been able to see the aurora borialis as far south as here the last two nights. I have never seen one with my own personal eyeballs before, and it is kinda on my bucket list. It was cloudy two nights ago, but it was clear last night.
So I took myself outside last night and watched the sky. The neighbor was watching TV, and the light from the TV was shining out the window, but as long as I didn't look there, it didn't mess up my night vision too much. So I watched and watched, saw a couple planes fly over. There were some really faint streaks of light that moved slowly, but I think they were airplane contrails that were slowly drifting with the wind as they dissipated.
Then the mosquitoes found me and I fled to the safety of indoors.
