Boskone wrap up.
Feb. 22nd, 2012 07:49 pmSo, we had a Boskone this weekend. It was, as usual, exhausting. I ended up doing a lot more work than I hoped to do, but not more than I've done in past years. I was volunteering in the con suite, and largely ended up running it by default. VickiS from the brookline food pantry ended up bringing her amazing assortment of breads, pastries and fruit, which were wonderful and much appreciated. I found out sunday that there had been a couple hundred more members of the convention in one capacity or another than the last few years. Which explained why we were goign through more of everything faster than expected. 75 dozen eggs, which I hard-boiled, ran out sunday about noon. We ran out of some of the flavors of soda pop saturday evening, and most of the others on sunday. Only had about ten bottles of coke and ten bottles of other flavors leftover. All the leftovers went to the brookline food pantry.
I suppose I'm silly enough to do the con suite again next year. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it. Suggestions that don't cost lots of money or people points, as I ran over budget this year, and we don't have enough people to do everything we want to do now. I'm happy to hear those suggestions.
