Red tail hawk and some bubble tea.

Yesterday I went down to WallyWabbit's small furmeet at West Rock Ridge state park in Connecticut. Scheduled to start at noon, I ended up being two hours late, due to my mom giving me a list of Honey-Do's as I was getting ready to leave. *pouts* THe main thing was cutting up the starting to rot halloween pumpkin so she could cook it down into pie makings. Yuck. (* the rotting pumpkin, not cooking it into pumpkin pie makings. ) Anyway, I got down there about 2pm, met Wally, and two other local furs whose names I have forgotten already. We tromped about the park a bit. It was rather steep, I should have worn boots with some ankle support, rather than sneakers. But we spent a good hour or two tromping up the hill, examining the large stone structure near the top that is the ventilation tower for the highway tunnel that the wilbur cross parkway uses. There were a couple of radio towers up there also, with lots of razor wire on their fences. We aslo stumbled across what we think was a red tail hawk. It took me several minutes to spot it, despite others pointing it out to me. Mostly because it was only about 20 feet away from us, and I was looking much further away. That was pretty cool, then it extended its wings and dropped down out of sight heading downhill. ( The slope there was something like 45 degrees or steeper. ) Afterwards we wandered back downhill, and headed back to wally's place, took a bus down to downtown new haven. Found a oriental market place and I finally had a chance to try bubble tea. It was kinda interesting, but not as wonderful as I had hoped. But now I've tried it. Dinner was at a little mexican place, then back to wally's where we watched some horrible old educational films from the 1950s. Headed home and two hours later was pulling into my driveway. Sunday I basically hung around home all day. Watched some PBS and got caught up on my mail and bills that I've been ignoring with my car woes and work schedule.
