I learned a new thing today.

Golfball sized hail is really fracking loud.

Today we had a couple of lines of intense thunderstorms come through the area. Midafternoon my phone beeps at me with the weather alert, and I look at the weather radar, and I see a cell that's about to hit my home. So I call home to make sure mom and dad are safely inside. Mom answers the phone and I explain. She says it is hailing golfball sized hail right now. That's when I realize that I can hear the hailstones hitting the house in the background over the phone. And my mom was having a hard time hearing me over the noise of the hailstones.

No damage that I could find when I got home. The neighbor had a tree come down across his driveway.

We were in South Boston near the Westin picking up a truck at Ryder when it hit there. It was impressive. The hailstones were the biggest L or I had ever seen. I was stuck inside the office for about 20 minutes waiting it out. L was outside in the Swedish Meatball (brown loaner Volvo). I was impressed there was no damage there. We had a small branch come down in Newton but nothing major. I haven't had a chance to ask the neighbors if it hailed in Newton and the kitties aren't saying.
